Character
Being a good official begins with being a good person—integrity, emotional maturity, work ethic, and respect for the game.
About LVBON
A 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to character, pathways, and community.
Our Primary Mission
LVBON was established as an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit educational organization with a clear, fundamental purpose: to provide an accessible pathway, hands-on guidance, and continuous developmental resources for officials at all levels—delivering structured education, film study, mechanics training, and industry access to help referees at every experience level refine their craft and advance to higher levels of officiating.
Whether an official is stepping onto the hardwood for their first seasons or is a seasoned referee working to elevate from grassroots to high school varsity, collegiate ranks, and beyond, LVBON provides the educational roadmap, mentorship, and community support to help them achieve their goals.
Founder's Perspective
“At its core, being a good official begins with being a good person.
Officiating is far more than blowing a whistle or enforcing rules—it is about integrity, emotional maturity, work ethic, and respect for the game.
Coaches, student-athletes, parents, assignors, and referees should not be adversaries; we are all stakeholders in this game together. When we collaborate and communicate with mutual respect, we create the best possible experience for everyone involved.
One of our primary missions at LVBON is to provide a genuine, accessible pathway: welcoming and guiding officials at all levels, and offering referees across every stage of experience the continuing education and support they need to sharpen their craft, advance to higher levels, and give back to our basketball community.”
